Birth confirmations are based on explicit mentions (e.g., "British-born," specific UK locations).
Limitations: Official MI5/CT Policing stats note hundreds of convictions (264 Islamist-related from 1998-2015, with ~72% UK nationals, many born here), but not all names/birthplaces are public, especially for minor/support roles or ongoing cases. Lesser-known foiled plots (e.g., some of 43+ foiled since 2017 per MI5) often lack detailed bios.
Note: This represents a tiny minority of UK Muslims. Many are second-generation (Pakistani, Nigerian descent), young males, radicalized locally/online. Converts like Adebolajo/Adebowale/Ziamani are included if UK-born and plot fits.
